2019 HKRW confirmed to go ahead!

As many people will know, Hong Kong was hit by the biggest typhoon in living memory on 16 September.

Typhoon Mangkhut passed close by the south of Hong Kong and packed sustained winds of over 170km/h and a large storm surge.

The RHKYC facilities at Middle Island were hit very hard, the slipway was damaged, boats were scattered all over and the club is still busy gathering up the pieces.

Having taken stock of the damage, we are pleased to be able to confirm that Hong Kong Race Week will still be going ahead as planned in February 2019, and the NOR will be published shortly.

Due to the number of boats that have been damaged, there is still a level of uncertainty surrounding the charter fleet, and we are squaring this up before activating the entry system.

In the meantime please block off from the 12 to 17 February in your calendar and keep checking back for more news.
