It's a WRAP - HKRW 2018
With 1 knot and gusting to 2 from the west this morning… the decision was made to hoist the AP and hold competitors on shore and see if the breeze improved. As the day went on the sun came out and the breeze increased marginally - but not enough for racing on the main race tracks. There was a little breeze in Deep Water Bay so the Optimist Green fleet were sent for some fun races in front of the Middle Island Clubhouse. HKRW Day 3 Round Up
After a cool day on the water yesterday, sailors were relieved with the jump in temperature and blue skies for Day 3 of Hong Kong Race Week. There was ‘champagne sailing’ (or should we say ‘sparkling soda sailing' due HKRW being a predominantly youth regatta) for the whole fleet across four race tracks in a 10 to 15kt easterly breeze. HKRW Day 2 Round up
There were beautiful blue skies for the start of Day 2 of Hong Kong Race Week but it was short lived however as the clouds started to roll in as the 248 competitors launched. A building north-easterly breeze was felt across most of the race track with much stronger conditions and swell on the Lasers, 29ers and 420s course near Po Toi Islands. HKRW Day 1 Round up
249 sailors from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, India, Italy, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, United States and Hong Kong were greeted with over 12kts of breeze as they descended upon Middle Island for the first day of racing which took place across three race tracks located in Repulse Bay and Stanley Bay on the south side of Hong Kong.
